| From a GM's standpoint in a thread, the Lucidian setting is far more open than it is in the chat. At its core, the Lucidian Worldsetting exists as a way for a GM to allow characters from all walks of life, technologies, magical abilities, psionics, etcetera... while at the same time allowing a convenient out for things not working. Histories, nations, and such all can be as fractured as people want them to be, no one adventure has to fit in with any other. It is still a dream world, and while the most solid (and canonical to my writings of why) explanation of why things are as they are can be found within my own "official" adventures, locals will probably have their own creation myths to sort out why the boom-stick from the next valley over is just a metal stick in theirs. | |
